thanks to blackrose108, who uploaded these scans!

spread the word! :)

you can read it here

there’s a comic book store near where i live and i’m debating just going out and buying the promise part 3 and scanning it for everybody

cause i’m getting so many asks about where to find it online

if i do this later tonight, will people actually read it/love me forever?

agentsokka:  Outta curiosity, how d'you feel about the whole Azula-straitjacket thing anyways? It feels.. pretty stereotypical towards mental illnesses in general to me. Plus the wheelchair doesn't look like it belongs in A:TLA's time period. o_O; Or maybe that's just me, I dunno.

to be honest, i HATE IT with a burning passion.

i mean, it bugs me because my twin sister is autistic. so anything involving mental disabilities hits home.

there must have been a better way of handling azula…seriously. technically, this comic is aimed at younger kids. it’s upsets me how she’s portrayed and you’re completely right, it’s very stereotypical.

browncoat-inthe-tardis:  i keep seeing posts about the promise part 3 being leaked or something. do you have a link?

there are two leaks, one of aang “breaking” from avatar roku, which is already on my blog.

and the other is a leak of azula interacting with zuko, but it’s a little scary, and may make some people feel uncomfortable.

you can view the azula panel here.

Anonymous:  The Promise is supposedly written in close collaboration with DiMartino and Konietzko, and considering it's supposed to be canon and that older Aang shows restraint in the also canonical LOK, I'd say wait to see the actual comic before making any conclusions; maybe he just acknowledges the concept, but remains passive. I think the only thing I dislike about the rumors is this "permanent break from Avatar Roku" - there has to be some serious disagreement for that to happen.

really? i had heard the opposite…that bryke didn’t really have much to do with it. maybe i’m wrong?

it’s just that none of what’s been leaked seems like aang at ALL. he was pretty much determined to do everything in his power to avoid killing ozai, but still stop the war. i hope that it’s just more of him addressing the issue, rather than him being like “oh okay, since i’m the avatar, killing is okay” or whatever

and the panel with avatar roku is absolutely ridiculous. i can’t even IMAGINE the reason why he would break away from roku. it’s like korra making a “permanent break” from aang. it’s just weird…and i really think it was just written to add some pointless drama.

phantom404:  I'm pretty sure the "Aang is okay with killing people" thing will only be temporary anyway. Just look at what happened between Aang and Yakone. If you're open to killing people, you don't just imprison and remove the bending of someone THAT powerful.

YOU’RE RIGHT BUT IT’S JUST SO STUPID

GENE YANG DID YOU EVEN WATCH THE SHOW

DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHICH ONE IS AANG?

“Aang finally acknowledges that it’s okay to kill people.”

clearly, what we can gather from this is that gene yang is a kyoshi fan

what is this “aang realizes killing people is okay” nonsense

because last time i checked

killing people is still not okay
